Highlight on Yoga Blankets
11/27/2012
Yoga Blankets are used all over the world, often in place of the yoga mat itself. I like a yoga blanket for outdoor yoga practice because it is more tolerant of twigs, grass or other uneven surfaces. Blankets “go with the flow” so to speak. I want a blanket that’s more function than style, but there are so many choices of yoga blankets, you can really have both. If your blanket will be used mostly for covering up, I like the Dragonfly Wool Blanket because it is very large (88” x 65”) so your feet won’t stick out at the end of your mat. You can also fold or roll the blanket and use it as a bolster. Solid wool blankets are a great prop for Yin yoga classes. I actually like to have two blankets so I can raise or lower the height when it’s used like a bolster. The Dragonfly wool blanket is easy to wash and holds its color, making this a great choice for yoga studios and gyms.
